Bucks County personal injury lawyer, Michael L. Saile, Jr., discusses what to do after you are discharged from the hospital. In most serious accident cases, an ambulance will rush you to the hospital to after a Pennsylvania car accident.
At the hospital, the you will be evaluated, possibly x-rayed, possibly given pain medication and muscle relaxers, and finally given discharge instructions. Discharge instructions describe your injury and how to treat your injury. Usually a nurse will go over the discharge instructions with you and give you a paper copy to take home.
After the hospital you should attempt to follow up with a physician within a couple days. Depending on your injury, you may want to follow up with your family doctor, an orthopedic doctor, or perhaps a surgeon. Be persistent and obtain an appointment with a physician as soon as possible. The other driver's insurance company may use any major breaks in your treatment against you.
