A Northeast Philadelphia car accident involving s single vehicle sends two men to the hospital after their vehicle loses control and slams into a guardrail. The incident took place at approximately 3:30 AM on Monday, February 6, 2012, along Whitaker Avenue in the Summerdale section of Northeast Philadelphia.
According to local police, a single vehicle with two men inside was traveling at a high rate of speed down Whitaker Avenue near Roosevelt Boulevard when the driver lost control of the vehicle. Reports indicate that the vehicle spun out of control before crashing into a guardrail.
The driver has been identified as a 32-year-old male and the passenger has been identified as a 22-year-old male. Their names were not immediately released.
Rescue crews had to extricate both men from the vehicle before transporting them to a local hospital where they were treated for various injuries. Details concerning their injuries and their conditions were not immediately made available. There were no other injuries reported.
The Northeast Philadelphia car accident remains under investigation by local authorities. Officials have yet to release details concerning the cause of the accident.
