  • Man Found in Road Following Apparent Bensalem Pedestrian Accident

    An apparent Bensalem pedestrian accident left a man in critical condition after police found him lying on the shoulder in the 2700 block of Street Road. The police responded to the incident at approximately 11:00 PM on Saturday night, April 28, 2012, in Bucks County.

    According to reports, Bensalem police found the man lying on the shoulder of eastbound Street Road just after 11:00 PM. The pedestrian has been identified as Kevin Hubbard, 45, of the Parkwood Section of Philadelphia.

    Rescue crews transported Mr. Hubbard to Aria Health Torresdale Campus and then the University of Pennsylvania Hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained in the accident. Police indicate that the victim’s injuries are consistent with being struck by a vehicle or falling from one. He was listed in critical condition.

    The driver fled the accident scene and has yet to be located by authorities. Police are asking anyone who may have seen Mr. Hubbard that evening or has information concerning the accident to call (215) 633-3638.

    The Bensalem pedestrian accident remains under investigation by local authorities as they determine the cause of the accident.

  • Levittown Car Accident Leaves Officer Injured

    A Levittown car accident involving two vehicles, including a police cruiser, leaves two people injured. The incident took place at approximately 4:00 AM on Friday, May 11, 2012, at the intersection of Tyburn Road and New Falls Road in Bucks County.

    According to reports, the driver of a Mercedes Benz crossed the double-yellow centerline at Tyburn and New Falls roads and slammed into a police cruiser head-on. The officer has been identified as 28-year-old Matthew Killeen.

    Officer Killeen, who has been on the force for three years, was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center where he was treated for injuries sustained in the collision. His injuries include a broken pelvis and broken hip. His condition was not immediately made known.

    Rescue crews also transported the unidentified driver to St. Mary’s Medical Center. It was unclear as to the extent of the person’s injuries.

    According to reports, an unidentified 78-year-old man lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the front of a Hallmark Store on Bristol Road near Hulmeville Road. Police believe that the man may have accelerated forward, causing his car to jump the curb and slam into the wall, front window, and a display case located in the store.

    Rescue crews transported the driver, his wife and a store employee to Aria Health’s Torresdale campus in Philadelphia. They were all reported as having minor injuries. Their identities were not immediately made known.

    Workers had the front window to the store boarded up by the afternoon. The store’s main structure was reported as being sound.

  • Man in Critical Condition Following a Bristol Township Car Accident

    A Bristol Township car accident involving four vehicles sends two to the hospital, including one in critical condition. The incident took place at approximately 9:30 AM on Sunday, April 8, 2012, along Route 13 in Bucks County.

    According to local police, a white van traveling northbound on Route 13 collided with a 1998 Ford Escort that was heading northbound along Haines Road and attempting to cross Route 13. The force of the impact sent the van into a guardrail and then a 2011 GMC Terrain, which was stopped at a red light. The GMC Terrain was then forced into a blue 2002 Ford Explorer.

    Rescue crews transported the driver of the Escort to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown after he was extricated from his vehicle. The victim has been identified as a 54-year-old Levittown resident. He was listed in critical condition.

    The 40-year-old driver of the van, also a Levittown resident, was taken to the hospital where he was released after being evaluated. Fortunately, there were no other injuries reported as a result of the wreck.

    The four-vehicle Bristol Township car accident remains under investigation by local authorities. There was no immediate indication as to what caused the accident. Anyone with information regarding the crash has been asked to contact Bristol Township police at (267) 812-3047.

  • Bristol Township Car Accident Claims Life of 17-Year-Old

    A Bristol Township car accident involving a single vehicle claimed the life of a Harry S. Truman High School junior after he lost control of his vehicle. The incident took place at approximately 6:45 PM on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, along Emilie Road.

    According to police, the driver of a 2002 Acura RSX was traveling eastbound along Emilie Road when he lost control of his vehicle. He crossed over the opposing lane where his vehicle went up a grass shoulder and slammed into a tree. The crash occurred between Indian Creek Place and Golden Turn.

    The victim has been identified as Eddie Brodecki, 17, of Levittown. Unfortunately, Mr. Brodecki, a member of his school’s varsity baseball team, lost his life in the accident.

    Initial reports indicate that no one else was involved or injured in the collision. Emilie Road was closed for approximately four hours as crews investigated and cleaned up the accident scene.

    The fatal Bristol Township car accident is still under investigation by local authorities. There was no immediate indication as to what caused the young man to lose control of his vehicle.

  • Philadelphia Car Accident Claims Life of Girl, Injures 4 Others

    A Philadelphia car accident involving an alleged intoxicated driver claimed the life of a girl and left four others injured. The incident took place at approximately 12:30 PM on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at 8th Street and Washington Avenue in the South Philadelphia area.

    According to local police, the driver of a 2012 Chevy Impala ran a red light at the intersection of 8th Street and Washington Avenue and slammed into a sport utility vehicle (SUV). The force of the impact sent the SUV into a nearby restaurant, pinning a young girl between the SUV and the building.

    Unfortunately, the 11-year-old victim lost her life due to injuries sustained in the accident. Rescue crews transported her stepmother, 3-year-old brother and the driver of the SUV to a nearby hospital. An employee of the restaurant was also taken to the hospital. All four victims were reported as being in stable condition.

    The driver of the Impala has been identified as Max Drosi, 28, of Miami, Florida. Police believe that Mr. Drosi was looking down at his GPS when the accident occurred. They also believe that he was under the influence of either drugs or alcohol.

    The fatal two-vehicle Philadelphia car accident remains under investigation by local authorities. Mr. Drosi was charged with homicide by vehicle.
