Northeast Philadelphia attorneys Saile & Saile LLP fight for car accident victims

Roosevelt Boulevard serves primarily north Philadelphia and northeast Philadelphia. This critical artery is, at its widest point, twelve lanes-wide; six north bound and six southbound. Roosevelt Boulevard (U.S. Route 1) has an endless number of traffic lights with turning lanes, underpasses, crossovers, traffic circles, and car accidents. Additionally, this road is heavily traveled by cars, SUVs, tractor trailer trucks, local busses, school busses, and tourist busses, which adds to the congestion and creates situations which lead to serious car accidents.
Philadelphia drivers who are not used to this busy roadway are likely to be involved in car accidents. Local and suburban Philadelphia motorists who are familiar with "the Boulevard" speed, tailgate, weave in and out of traffic, and often run red lights, making this roadway hazardous and highly prone to car accidents resulting in personal injury.

In fact, Roosevelt Boulevard has two intersections which have been deemed the 2nd and 3rd most dangerous intersections in the U.S. by a leading national auto insurance company: the intersections at the Boulevard and Red Lion Road and the intersection of the Boulevard and Grant Avenue. Due to the unusually high number of car accidents that occur at these two specific intersections, the first of Philadelphia's red light surveillance cameras were installed here in 2004.

In addition to the great number of car accidents occurring on the Boulevard, pedestrian accidents, including hit and runs, are disproportionately prevalent on the Roosevelt Boulevard.

Legions of motorists from the northeastern suburbs utilize Woodhaven Road (State Road 63) to approach Philadelphia. Woodhaven Road spans east and west across the northeast of Philadelphia and the southern end of Bucks County. This short freeway connects the Roosevelt Boulevard and Byberry Road to Interstate 95 (the Delaware Expressway). Although it was widened from its original two lanes east and two lanes west to its current three lanes in each direction, it is still insufficient to accommodate the heavy volume of vehicles that use it every day, making this another local spot typical for car accidents.

Woodhaven Road's faulty design is realized at the intersection with U.S. Route 13 (Bristol Pike) and in the area surrounding the Franklin Mills Mall, where the access ramps are oddly laid out and poorly signed. However, its faulty design is greatest at the merge onto Interstate 95 going south into Philadelphia. Motorists use excessive speed and often drive recklessly on both I-95 and Woodhaven Road, making the merge a very likely place for severe multi-car accidents.
